Addiction and Mental Health Research Laboratory

AMHRL is directed by Dr. Cameron Wild, a Professor in the Centre for Health Promotion Studies, School of Public Health.  AMHRL investigates psychosocial aspects of addiction and mental health, including: studies of problem drinking, injection drug use, smoking, social policy related to addictions, continuity of care in mental health service delivery and the relationship between emotional expression and health.

AMHRL is committed to using the best quantitative and qualitative tools to address these complex issues. Lab projects adopt an interdisciplinary population health approach and include prevalence studies, secondary interventions, phenomenological and ethnographic methods, psychometrics, and randomized controlled trials.  AMHRL activities include both curiosity-driven and community-driven projects

AMHRL provides a great training environment for graduate students.  Click here for more information.
